WORLD RENOWNED HEART SURGEON SPEAKS OUT ON WHAT REALLY CAUSES HEART DISEASE

We physicians with all our training, knowledge and authority often acquire a rather large ego that tends to make it difficult to admit we are wrong. So, here it is. I freely admit to being wrong. As a heart surgeon with 25 years experience and having performed over 5,000 open-heart surgeries, today is my day to right the wrong with medical and scientific fact.

I trained for many years with other prominent physicians labeled “opinion makers.” Bombarded with scientific literature, continually attending education seminars, we opinion makers insisted heart disease resulted from the simple fact of elevated blood cholesterol.

The only accepted therapy was prescribing medications to lower cholesterol and a diet that severely restricted fat intake. The latter of course we insisted would lower cholesterol and heart disease. Deviations from these recommendations were considered heresy and could quite possibly result in malpractice.

It Is Not Working!
These recommendations are no longer scientifically or morally defensible. The discovery a few years ago that inflammation in the artery wall is the real cause of heart disease is slowly leading to a paradigm shift in how heart disease and other chronic ailments will be treated.

The long-established dietary recommendations have created epidemics of obesity and diabetes, the consequences of which dwarf any historical plague in terms of mortality, human suffering and dire economic consequences.

Despite the fact that 25% of the population takes expensive statin medications and despite the fact we have reduced the fat content of our diets, more Americans will die this year of heart disease than ever before.

Statistics from the American Heart Association show that 75 million Americans currently suffer from heart disease, 20 million have diabetes and 57 million have pre-diabetes. These disorders are affecting younger and younger people in greater numbers every year.

Simply stated, without inflammation being present in the body, there is no way that cholesterol would accumulate in the wall of the blood vessel and cause heart disease and strokes. Without inflammation, cholesterol would move freely throughout the body as nature intended. It is inflammation that causes cholesterol to become trapped.

Inflammation is not complicated — it is quite simply your body’s natural defense to a foreign invader such as a bacteria, toxin or virus. The cycle of inflammation is perfect in how it protects your body from these bacterial and viral invaders. However, if we chronically expose the body to injury by toxins or foods the human body was never designed to process, a condition occurs called chronic inflammation. Chronic inflammation is just as harmful as acute inflammation is beneficial.

What thoughtful person would willfully expose himself repeatedly to foods or other substances that are known to cause injury to the body? Well, smokers perhaps, but at least they made that choice willfully.

The rest of us have simply followed the recommended mainstream diet that is low in fat and high in polyunsaturated fats and carbohydrates, not knowing we were causing repeated injury to our blood vessels. This repeated injury creates chronic inflammation leading to heart disease, stroke, diabetes and obesity.

Let me repeat that: The injury and inflammation in our blood vessels is caused by the low fat diet recommended for years by mainstream medicine.

What are the biggest culprits of chronic inflammation? Quite simply, they are the overload of simple, highly processed carbohydrates (sugar, flour and all the products made from them) and the excess consumption of omega-6 vegetable oils like soybean, corn and sunflower that are found in many processed foods.

Take a moment to visualize rubbing a stiff brush repeatedly over soft skin until it becomes quite red and nearly bleeding. You kept this up several times a day, every day for five years. If you could tolerate this painful brushing, you would have a bleeding, swollen infected area that became worse with each repeated injury. This is a good way to visualize the inflammatory process that could be going on in your body right now.

Regardless of where the inflammatory process occurs, externally or internally, it is the same. I have peered inside thousands upon thousands of arteries. A diseased artery looks as if someone took a brush and scrubbed repeatedly against its wall. Several times a day, every day, the foods we eat create small injuries compounding into more injuries, causing the body to respond continuously and appropriately with inflammation.

While we savor the tantalizing taste of a sweet roll, our bodies respond alarmingly as if a foreign invader arrived declaring war. Foods loaded with sugars and simple carbohydrates, or processed with omega-6 oils for long shelf life have been the mainstay of the American diet for six decades. These foods have been slowly poisoning everyone.

How does eating a simple sweet roll create a cascade of inflammation to make you sick?

Imagine spilling syrup on your keyboard and you have a visual of what occurs inside the cell. When we consume simple carbohydrates such as sugar, blood sugar rises rapidly. In response, your pancreas secretes insulin whose primary purpose is to drive sugar into each cell where it is stored for energy. If the cell is full and does not need glucose, it is rejected to avoid extra sugar gumming up the works.

When your full cells reject the extra glucose, blood sugar rises producing more insulin and the glucose converts to stored fat.
What does all this have to do with inflammation? Blood sugar is controlled in a very narrow range. Extra sugar molecules attach to a variety of proteins that in turn injure the blood vessel wall. This repeated injury to the blood vessel wall sets off inflammation. When you spike your blood sugar level several times a day, every day, it is exactly like taking sandpaper to the inside of your delicate blood vessels.

While you may not be able to see it, rest assured it is there. I saw it in over 5,000 surgical patients spanning 25 years who all shared one common denominator — inflammation in their arteries.
Let’s get back to the sweet roll. That innocent looking goody not only contains sugars, it is baked in one of many omega-6 oils such as soybean. Chips and fries are soaked in soybean oil; processed foods are manufactured with omega-6 oils for longer shelf life. While omega-6’s are essential -they are part of every cell membrane controlling what goes in and out of the cell – they must be in the correct balance with omega-3’s.

If the balance shifts by consuming excessive omega-6, the cell membrane produces chemicals called cytokines that directly cause inflammation.

Today’s mainstream American diet has produced an extreme imbalance of these two fats. The ratio of imbalance ranges from 15:1 to as high as 30:1 in favor of omega-6. That’s a tremendous amount of cytokines causing inflammation. In today’s food environment, a 3:1 ratio would be optimal and healthy.

To make matters worse, the excess weight you are carrying from eating these foods creates overloaded fat cells that pour out large quantities of pro-inflammatory chemicals that add to the injury caused by having high blood sugar. The process that began with a sweet roll turns into a vicious cycle over time that creates heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes and finally, Alzheimer’s disease, as the inflammatory process continues unabated.

There is no escaping the fact that the more we consume prepared and processed foods, the more we trip the inflammation switch little by little each day. The human body cannot process, nor was it designed to consume, foods packed with sugars and soaked in omega-6 oils.

There is but one answer to quieting inflammation, and that is returning to foods closer to their natural state. To build muscle, eat more protein. Choose carbohydrates that are very complex such as colorful fruits and vegetables. Cut down on or eliminate inflammation- causing omega-6 fats like corn and soybean oil and the processed foods that are made from them.

One tablespoon of corn oil contains 7,280 mg of omega-6; soybean contains 6,940 mg. Instead, use olive oil or butter from grass-fed beef.

Animal fats contain less than 20% omega-6 and are much less likely to cause inflammation than the supposedly healthy oils labeled polyunsaturated. Forget the “science” that has been drummed into your head for decades. The science that saturated fat alone causes heart disease is non-existent. The science that saturated fat raises blood cholesterol is also very weak. Since we now know that cholesterol is not the cause of heart disease, the concern about saturated fat is even more absurd today.

The cholesterol theory led to the no-fat, low-fat recommendations that in turn created the very foods now causing an epidemic of inflammation. Mainstream medicine made a terrible mistake when it advised people to avoid saturated fat in favor of foods high in omega-6 fats. We now have an epidemic of arterial inflammation leading to heart disease and other silent killers.

What you can do is choose whole foods your grandmother served and not those your mom turned to as grocery store aisles filled with manufactured foods. By eliminating inflammatory foods and adding essential nutrients from fresh unprocessed food, you will reverse years of damage in your arteries and throughout your body from consuming the typical American diet.

Battling Brittle Bones With . . . Broccoli and Spinach!

Posted by thomenda7xx on Saturday, December 29, 2012

"This study is important because it implicates, for the first time, the role of osteocalcin in giving bone the ability to resist fracture," Vashishth said. "Since osteocalcin is always the point of fracture, we believe that strengthening it could lead to a strengthening of the overall bone."

Funded by the U.S. National Institutes of Health, the study details how fractures in healthy bones begin with the creation of incredibly tiny holes, each measuring only about 500 atoms in diameter, within the bone's mineral structure. In the case of a slip, trip, or fall, the force of the impact on a bone physically deforms a pair of joined proteins, osteopontin and osteocalcin, and results in the formation of nanoscale holes. These holes, called dilatational bands, function as a natural defense mechanism, and help to prevent further damage to the surrounding bone. However, if the force of the impact is too great -- or if the bone is lacking osteopontin, osteocalcin, or both -- the bone will crack and fracture.
The multi-university study, led by Deepak Vashishth, head of the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Rensselaer, is the first to give evidence of fracture at the level of bone's nanostructure. Partnering with Rensselaer on the study were Villanova University, the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York, and Yale University.
Long known but little understood, the protein osteocalin has been produced by and present in animal bones since before the dawn of humanity. Recently, abnormalities in ostoecalcin production have been associated with Type 2 diabetes as well as problems in reproductive health. Vashishth's new study, however, is the first to explain the structural and mechanical importance of osteocalcin in bone.
Now that osteocalcin is known to participate in bone fracture, new strategies for strengthening the bond between osteocalin and osteopontin can be investigated, Vashishth said. Augmenting the body's natural supply of osteocalcin, for example, could be one possible strategy for treating osteoporosis and other conditions leading to increased fracture risk, he said. Osteocalin must be in its carboxylated form to get absorbed into bone, and the protein is carboxylated by vitamin K. Vashishth said future studies could investigate the relation between vitamin K intake, osteocalcin, and bone strength.
"Currently, all of the advice for treating osteoporosis is related to calcium. We believe there's more to the story than just calcium, and the results of this new study raise an important question about vitamin K. Leafy green vegetables are the best source of vitamin K -- wouldn't it be great if eating spinach and broccoli was not only healthy, but also good for your bones? We plan to investigate this link in future," Vashisth said.
Results of the new study, titled "Dilatational band formation in bone," were recently published online by Proceedings of the National Academy of Scie

Mass Murdering Young Children - Guns? Psychotropic Drugs? or Acid Diet?

Posted by thomenda7xx

Don't forget to ban prescription drugs because they kill people too. In the US alone, there are over 106,000 deaths from properly prescribed pharmaceutical drugs, taken as directed. It's all poison. Educate yourselves. Research Codex Alimentarius. Its real.

The Sandy Hook Elementary shooter, Adam Lanza, the Aurora movie theater shooter, James Holmes, the Columbine killer, Eric Harris, and a host of other mass murdering young children were on some type of psychotropic drugs when they committed their crimes.

According to a study published in the journal PLoS One and based on the FDA’s Adverse Event Reporting System, the following mind-altering drugs are most frequently linked to violence.  Here are the top ten killers of children:
10. Desvenlafaxine (Pristiq) is an antidepressant associated with 7.9 times more violence than many other drugs.
9. Venlafaxine (Effexor) is related to Pristiq and is an antidepressant also used in treating those with anxiety disorders. Effexor is 8.3 times more associated with violent behavior than other drugs.
8. Fluvoxamine (Luvox) is an antidepressant that affects serotonin (SSRI), and is 8.4 times more likely to be linked to violence than other medications
7. Triazolam (Halcion) can be addictive and is a benzodiazepine that supposedly treats insomnia. It’s 8.7 times more likely to be associated with violence than other medications.
6. Atomoxetine (Strattera) is often prescribed to treat ADHD and is 9 times more likely to be associated with violence.
5. Mefoquine (Lariam) treats malaria and sometimes produces bizarre behavior, and is 9.5 times more likely to be linked to violence.
4. Amphetamines come in many forms and are often used to treat ADHD (even to children not diagnosed with ADHD). They are 9.6 times more likely to be linked to violence.
3. Paroxetine (Paxil) is an SSRI (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor) antidepressant. Many users experience severe withdrawal symptoms and are more likely to produce children with birth defects as well as 10.3 times more likely to be linked to violence than other medications.
2. Fluoxetine (Prozac) is a household name for a powerful SSRI antidepressant linked with 10.9 times more violence than other drugs.
1. Varenicline (Chantix) is administered to smokers to supposedly help curb cigarette cravings, but it’s a whopping 18 times more likely to be linked to violent behavior than other drugs.

The Food and Drug Administration, which approves these drugs, recognizes that more 100,000 adverse drug reaction (ADR) deaths occur each year. ADR's are the fourth leading cause of death, ahead of pulmonary disease, diabetes, AIDS, pneumonia, accidents and automobile deaths.

Drug companies market to doctors to prescribe their medications and use fake studies to sell their efficacy. The drug company GlaxoSmithKline was recently fined a mere $93,000 in Argentina for killing 14 babies during illegal lab vaccine trials in which the company falsified parental authorizations so that the babies could participate without legitimate parental permission. According to one pediatrician working at the public hospital when GSK began recruiting babies for their illegal human trials, not only did GSK force illiterate parents into handing over their children, but they also “recruited” several doctors working at the hospital into their cause. The actual number of children affected may run in the thousands.

According to a study published in Human and Experimental Toxicology, the more vaccinated a baby, the more likely he or she will die or suffer from a serious reaction.

Yet lawful gun owners may become the scapegoat for the mess Big Pharma is creating and more draconian, liberty stealing laws will likely result from the shooting.

Yes: its’ not the drugs and not the guns! here: Want to stop the violence?   THAN ADD TO THIS, ADIC DIET, POOR PARENTING or the  LACK OF PARENTING or ONE MEMBER PARENTING, etc., etc., etc.

Here are 38 answers to the potential cause of mass murdering children:

1)  Eric Harris age 17 (first on Zoloft then Luvox) and Dylan Klebold aged 18 (Colombine school shooting in Littleton, Colorado), killed 12 students and 1 teacher, and wounded 23 others, before killing themselves. Klebold’s medical records have never been made available to the public.
2)  Jeff Weise, age 16, had been prescribed 60 mg/day of Prozac (three times the average starting dose for adults!) when he shot his grandfather, his grandfather’s girlfriend and many fellow students at Red Lake, Minnesota. He then shot himself. 10 dead, 12 wounded.
3)  Cory Baadsgaard, age 16, Wahluke (Washington state) High School, was on Paxil (which caused him to have hallucinations) when he took a rifle to his high school and held 23 classmates hostage. He has no memory of the event.
4)  Chris Fetters, age 13, killed his favorite aunt while taking Prozac.
5)  Christopher Pittman, age 12, murdered both his grandparents while taking Zoloft.
6)  Mathew Miller, age 13, hung himself in his bedroom closet after taking Zoloft for 6 days.
7)  Kip Kinkel, age 15, (on Prozac and Ritalin) shot his parents while they slept then went to school and opened fire killing 2 classmates and injuring 22 shortly after beginning Prozac treatment.
8)  Luke Woodham, age 16 (Prozac) killed his mother and then killed two students, wounding six others.
9)  A boy in Pocatello, ID (Zoloft) in 1998 had a Zoloft-induced seizure that caused an armed stand off at his school.
10)  Michael Carneal (Ritalin), age 14, opened fire on students at a high school prayer meeting in West Paducah, Kentucky. Three teenagers were killed, five others were wounded..
11)  A young man in Huntsville, Alabama (Ritalin) went psychotic chopping up his parents with an ax and also killing one sibling and almost murdering another.
12)  Andrew Golden, age 11, (Ritalin) and Mitchell Johnson, aged 14, (Ritalin) shot 15 people, killing four students, one teacher, and wounding 10 others.
13)  TJ Solomon, age 15, (Ritalin) high school student in Conyers, Georgia opened fire on and wounded six of his class mates.
14)  Rod Mathews, age 14, (Ritalin) beat a classmate to death with a bat.
15)  James Wilson, age 19, (various psychiatric drugs) from Breenwood, South Carolina, took a .22 caliber revolver into an elementary school killing two young girls, and wounding seven other children and two teachers.
16)  Elizabeth Bush, age 13, (Paxil) was responsible for a school shooting in Pennsylvania
17)  Jason Hoffman (Effexor and Celexa) – school shooting in El Cajon, California
18)  Jarred Viktor, age 15, (Paxil), after five days on Paxil he stabbed his grandmother 61 times.
19)  Chris Shanahan, age 15 (Paxil) in Rigby, ID who out of the blue killed a woman.
20)  Jeff Franklin (Prozac and Ritalin), Huntsville, AL, killed his parents as they came home from work using a sledge hammer, hatchet, butcher knife and mechanic’s file, then attacked his younger brothers and sister.
21)  Neal Furrow (Prozac) in LA Jewish school shooting reported to have been court-ordered to be on Prozac along with several other medications.
22)  Kevin Rider, age 14, was withdrawing from Prozac when he died from a gunshot wound to his head. Initially it was ruled a suicide, but two years later, the investigation into his death was opened as a possible homicide. The prime suspect, also age 14, had been taking Zoloft and other SSRI antidepressants.
23)  Alex Kim, age 13, hung himself shortly after his Lexapro prescription had been doubled.
24) Diane Routhier was prescribed Welbutrin for gallstone problems. Six days later, after suffering many adverse effects of the drug, she shot herself.
25)  Billy Willkomm, an accomplished wrestler and a University of Florida student, was prescribed Prozac at the age of 17. His family found him dead of suicide – hanging from a tall ladder at the family’s Gulf Shore Boulevard home in July 2002.
26)  Kara Jaye Anne Fuller-Otter, age 12, was on Paxil when she hung herself from a hook in her closet. Kara’s parents said “…. the damn doctor wouldn’t take her off it and I asked him to when we went in on the second visit. I told him I thought she was having some sort of reaction to Paxil…”)
27)  Gareth Christian, Vancouver, age 18, was on Paxil when he committed suicide in 2002,
(Gareth’s father could not accept his son’s death and killed himself.)

28)  Julie Woodward, age 17, was on Zoloft when she hung herself in her family’s detached garage.
29)  Matthew Miller was 13 when he saw a psychiatrist because he was having difficulty at school. The psychiatrist gave him samples of Zoloft. Seven days later his mother found him dead, hanging by a belt from a laundry hook in his closet.
30)  Kurt Danysh, age 18, and on Prozac, killed his father with a shotgun. He is now behind prison bars, and writes letters, trying to warn the world that SSRI drugs can kill.
31)  Woody ____, age 37, committed suicide while in his 5th week of taking Zoloft. Shortly before his death his physician suggested doubling the dose of the drug. He had seen his physician only for insomnia. He had never been depressed, nor did he have any history of any mental illness symptoms.
32)  A boy from Houston, age 10, shot and killed his father after his Prozac dosage was increased.
33)  Hammad Memon, age 15, shot and killed a fellow middle school student. He had been diagnosed with ADHD and depression and was taking Zoloft and “other drugs for the conditions.”
34)  Matti Saari, a 22-year-old culinary student, shot and killed 9 students and a teacher, and wounded another student, before killing himself. Saari was taking an SSRI and a benzodiazapine.
35)  Steven Kazmierczak, age 27, shot and killed five people and wounded 21 others before killing himself in a Northern Illinois University auditorium. According to his girlfriend, he had recently been taking Prozac, Xanax and Ambien. Toxicology results showed that he still had trace amounts of Xanax in his system.
36)  Finnish gunman Pekka-Eric Auvinen, age 18, had been taking antidepressants before he killed eight people and wounded a dozen more at Jokela High School – then he committed suicide.
37)  Asa Coon from Cleveland, age 14, shot and wounded four before taking his own life. Court records show Coon was on Trazodone.
38)  Jon Romano, age 16, on medication for depression, fired a shotgun at a teacher in his
New York high school.

Perhaps rather than gun-control, we should be looking closer to instituting pharma-
control?

Prevention is the Cure That Will Save Our Children from Physical and Mental Dis-Ease!

In my own research I have yet to find one single child who was depressed or pyschotic to be alkaline in his/her urine or saliva.  In fact, I have found that children with emotional and mental challenges are highly acidic in their saliva and urine and are constipated from the over-acidification of animal proteins, dairy products, grains, sugar and processed foods.   These children with so-called emotional or mental problems who are taking anti-depressant or anit-psychotic drugs are constipated in their primary brain - the small and large intestines.  When a child eliminates ALL acidic foods and drinks and follows an alkaline lifestyle and diet then the bowels clear and their cranial brain clears.  This in turn eliminates the need for any mind-altering drugs.

Most people do not know that they have more brain cells in their gut than in their head.  When the gut is healed and the child is having 3 to 5 bowel movements a day the brain heals and clears and then there is no more need for drugs.

Here are a few of my suggestions for returning a child back to physical and mental health:

1)  Eliminate all animal proteins, including beef, chicken, turkey, pork, fish and eggs from the diet.
2)  Eliminate all grains from the diet including rice,
3)  Eliminate all dairy products - especially cheese.
4)  Eliminate all sugar whether natural or artifical.
5)  Eliminate all fermented foods, including vinegar and soy sauce.
6)  Eliminate all nuts except for nut milks such as almond milk.
7)  Eliminate mushrooms.
8)  Eat liberal amounts of alkalizing green fruit and vegetables such as cucumber, avocado, broccoli, spinach, celery, parsley, lemon, lime, tomato, just to name a few.
9)  Drink only clean alkaline water at a pH of 9.5.  Drink at least 1 liter per 30 pounds of weight.
10)  Increase your mineral salts daily.
11)  Drink at least 250ml of chlorophyll a day.
12)  Drink at 50ml of Omega 3 oil per day.
13)  Take a lower bowel cleanser like pH Miracle pHlush to remove undigested animal protein and mucous from the small and large bowel.
14)  Have daily alkalizing colonics.
15)  Keep the urine and saliva pH above 7.2 daily.
16)  Daily 1 hour exercising, which can include rebounding, swimming, walking, jogging, etc.
17)  Daily breathing and stretching exercises.
18)  Daily meditation and prayer.

When a child starts feeling better from an alkaline lifestyle and diet, a child will start thinking better and when a child starts thinking better than a child will immediately start doing better.

Concussions - Children and Adolescents

Posted by thomenda7xx

A concussion changes how the brain works. It can be only a bump, a jolt or a significant blow to the head or body which will cause the brain to move rapidly back and forth. Even a mild bump to the head can be serious in some cases but particularly for young people.

Symptoms can show up immediately or not until sometime later. Symptoms of concussions are: being dazed, confused or forgetful; having a headache; feeling nauseated or vomiting; problems with dizziness or balance and clumsy movements; being sensitive to noise or light; memory problems; being unconscious, even briefly; one pupil being larger than the other; feeling drowsy; having seizures or any other changes in behavior.

If a concussion is suspected, the child should immediately be pulled from the game so that an assessment from a health care professional can be obtained before the child is allowed back to play. Rest is imperative if a child or teenager has suffered a concussion. Brains take time to heal so as to avoid further complications. Until a young athlete has completely recovered from the first concussion, a second injury is more likely to occur. This should be avoided because second, and subsequent concussions take longer to heal than the first ones.

My young seven year old grandson plays soccer and loves the sport. He recently told me proudly that he had 'headed' the ball to keep it from going into the goal. He had no ill effects from this but I do believe that in a child so young, even 'heading' a ball is something to be aware of and concerned about, in spite of the fact that soccer isn't considered to be one of the rougher sports.

The International Conference on Concussion in Sports believes that when it comes to concussions in children and teens, different treatment is required. If a concussion has been identified, it is important that the child or teenager not be allowed to return to the field to play, not to go to school and definitely not to engage in cognitive activities of any kind until they are completely healed. Cognitive rest is particularly important for a successful recovery.

It is important also that children and teenagers be strictly monitored during this recovery time. There is a realization that the developing brains of young people requires special consideration. They need a longer period of rest with a more gradual return to activities than adults need.

The onus therefore, is on parents and coaches to ensure that these safeguards are heeded when it comes to children and adolescents. And it is good to remember that it is better to miss a game than to miss a whole season, or worse still, to live with lifetime consequences because of not taking the proper care when it should have been taken.

Ms. Behnish has published 'Rollercoaster Ride With Brain Injury (For Loved Ones)', a non-fiction book detailing the difficult year following a brain injury; 'His Sins', a three generation family saga about how the actions of one person can affect future generations, and 'Life's Challenges, A Short Story Collection'.

Signs of Aging - 45 BioMarkers - From Muscle loss to Memory Loss and How To Live Beyond 100 Years

The following are 45 BioMarkers for aging and how to reverse them for living and enjoying life to its fullest.

This is not an exhaustive list, and is in no particular order but are keys to the fountain of youth and living beyond 100 years.

1. Muscle mass decreases. (muscle/weight/height Body Mass Index Increases)

2. Fat increases as a percentage of body weight.

3. Strength, energy and speed of the body decreases.

4. Base Metabolic Rate (metabolism) decreases.

5. Aerobic Capacity, the capacity to process oxygen, decreases. Red blood cells as a percentage of total blood volume (hematocrit) decreases until the average at age 90 is what is considered to be "anemia" at age 40.

6. Body cells become resistant to insulin.

7. LDL Cholesterol ("bad" cholesterol) and triglicerides increase, and HDL Cholesterol ("good" cholesterol) falls.

8. Blood pressure increases.

9. Bone mineral density decreases.

10. Density of calcium in circulatory system increases.

11. Kidney functions decrease.

12. We lose neurons in our brain. This leads to Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, Senile Dementia and long term and short term memory loss.

13. The vagus nerve, the longest nerve in our body, deteriorates... and all the nervous system surely also deteriorates.

14. Growth Hormone secretion drops.

15. Testosterone in men, and estrogen and progesterone in women, drops.

16. Sexual desire drops.

17. Thyroid (a hormone which affects metabolism) drops.

18. Melatonine (a hormone which regulates the body clock) drops.

19. DHEA (a hormone precursor to testosterone and estrogen) drops.

20. EPO, (erythropoyetin, a hormone which stimulates the production of new red blood cells) drops.

21. Estradiol, a female hormone, increases in men leading to erectile dysfunction and memory loss.

22. Cortisol, "the Death Hormone," increases.

23. Good enzymes (Super Oxidase Dimutase, etc.) drop.

24. A bad enzyme, MAO-B increase in the brain. MAO-B destroys neurons that produce dopamine, which is a neuro-transmitter.

25. Aromatase enzyme, a bad enzyme, increases. Aromatase converts testosterone to estrogen in men, which deprives him of libido to erectile dysfunction.

26. The thickness of skin decreases, resulting in more wrinkles.

27. Prolactin, a female hormone, increases in the body of a male, presumably depriving him of some sexual libido and erectile dysfunction.

28. Water proportion in the body and in the skin, drops. This results (among other things) in dryer skin, and more wrinkles.

29. Sense of hearing drops.

30. Sense of taste drops... "everything tastes the same."

31. Sense of vision, especially capacity to read small letters in low light, decreases.

32. Hair falls and loses its color (it becomes white).

33. The thymus gland, the master of the immune system, shrinks and atrophys, thus lessening our immune system.

34. Our liver, brain, and other critical organs shrink in size, thus affecting their functions.

35. Lipofuscine ("liver spots") accumulates in our hands and our brains. This snuffs out many neurons in our brain leading to short term and long term memory loss.

36. The circulatory system deteriorates in length and width.

37. The velocity of blood flow decreases.

38. Inflammation increases in our body due to elimination organ congestion and a build up of excess metabolic and dietary acids.

39. "Deep sleep" becomes more scarce and less profound.

40. Digestion becomes slower and less complete.

41. The retina of the eye becomes thinner, in many cases detaching.

42. The macula of the eye loses some of its shape after age 40, and causes distorted vision.

43. Micro-vessels in the eye pop, covering the retina, causing partial loss of vision, or complete blindness.

44. Night-vision decreases.

45. Melanocytes continually release small amounts of the brown- black pigment called melanin into the skin. Exposure to sunlight signals the melanocytes to produce more melanin. Melanin determines our normal skin color and attempts to protect our skin from severe sun damage. As we age, our melanocytes begin to function less effectively. The density of active melanocytes in the skin is reduced by 10% to 20% every 10 years, starting in our late 30's and 40's. Melanocytes are also responsible for hair color, so their loss explains why 50% of people are gray by age

The good news is that for everything that can happen, for each sign of aging there is a cause, and there is a natural approach to slow down or stop the sign of aging completely, or even reverse the course. The following are the keys to slowing down and/or stopping the aging or fermenting process and living to over 100 with our short term and long term memory intact.

1. Muscle mass decreases... on the average about 7 lbs. per decade... this loss accelerates after age 45.

And what to do about it: Do exercises to increase muscle mass, or to decrease the rate of loss. Take 1 teaspoon of glutathione 3 times a day, which will help to increase muscle mass. Eat more high chlorophyll foods to build blood and in turn builds muscles. Eliminate all animal protein and complex carbohydrate intake to reduce acidity that tenderizes and weakens muscle cell. Whole body or whole cell exercising with a rebounder and/or whole body vibrational machine will help to remove acids from the tissues and prevent and/or reverse tissue wasting. Drink 4 to 5 liters or quarts of electron rich alkaline water with 1 to 2 scoops of pHruits and pHloage and/or Doc Broc Power Plants.

2. Fat percentage increases from 25% to more than 40%.

And what to do about it: Eat less sugar and protein in your diet which causes the body to retain fat to buffer the excess acids. Eliminate undigested proteins in the 9 yards of the intestines with oral alimentary canal cleaners, enemas and colonic irrigation. Take 2 to 3 teaspoons of Young pHorever pHlush which contains magnesium oxide to break-up undigested animal proteins, sticky acids from complex carbohydrates and acid bound mucous.

3. Body strength, energy, and speed decreases.

And what to do about it: Do low impact and static attraction exercises every day for 1 hour. Try to EAT much more chlorophyll rich foods and eat 60 grams of polyunsaturated fats.

4. Base Metabolic Rate (Metabolism) decreases. The thyroid gland produces less hormone.

And what to do about it: Eliminate All animal protein and complex carbohydrates, eat more alkaline electron rich, high water content and high chlorophyll content foods and drinks. Start taking 1 to 2 teaspoons of pHour salts containing sodium, magnesium, potassium and calcium. Spray the pHlavor salt in your mouth every hour or when you feel a decrease in energy.

5. Aerobic capacity (capacity to process oxygen) decreases.

And what to do about it: Do low impact aerobic exercises such as rebounding, walking, jogging, and whole body vibration every day for at least 1 hour. Exercise is all around good -- giving you the positive effects of increased endorphins and a reduced waistline. It makes your heart stronger by pumping more blood with less effort, lowers cholesterol and blood pressure, prevents and controls diabetes, strengthens bones and muscles and controls weight. Convinced yet? A study published in the Archives of Internal Medicine showed that participants who had moderate to high exercise routines lived 1.3 to 3.7 years longer than their couch potato counterparts. Clear the bowels of any undigested animal and dairy products. Drink 1 tablespoon of liquid chlorophyll every hour to help build the blood.

6. Body cells lose sensitivity to insulin.

And what to do about it: Avoid all sugars (natural sugars like honey, agave or stevia) and complex carbohydrates in your diet, increase healthy fats in your diet from avocado, olive, hemp, pumpkin, sesame, etc., and eliminate all protein in your diet. If you are overweight, try to lose weight through the pH Miracle alkaline diet and low impact and static attraction exercise. Do exercises to increase muscle mass and eliminate acids, which will help to lower high insulin levels. As you eliminate acidity and clear the bowels of undigested protein and carbohydrate, this will reverse your sensitivity to insulin. Take supplements with chromium and vanadium, which will help insulin to work better. Take supplemental sodium, magnesium, potassium, calcium, long chain fats, arginine, carnitine, and especially veggie based glutathione. Buy a meter to measure glucose levels after every meal, and adjust your diet to keep glucose between 70 and 105, (preferably 80 to 95.) As you begin to alkalize your body you will need less insulin (up to 75% in the first 72 hours).

7. LDL Cholesterol, (Low Density Lipoprotein, the "good cholesterol) increases when we are more acidic, and HDL Cholesterol (High Density Lipoprotein, the "good" cholesterol) decreases when we are eating acidic foods.

And what to do about it: Avoid animal protein, all sugar, and complex carbohydrate foods whenever you can. Take chromium, vanadium, Omega-3 from hemp seed, Omega-5 from pomegranate seed, amino acids such as glutathione, taurine, cysteine, carnitine. Eat alkaline, high chlorophyll fruits and vegetables with a high content of water and fiber. Never take injected growth hormone!
Eating up to two portions of fish on a weekly basis is beneficial, reported the Harvard School of Public Health. In fact, eating fish could possibly cut the risk of death by heart disease by one-third. Here's why: omega-3's fatty acids are healthy. They keep blood from clotting, lower the amount of fats in the bloodstream and reduce the risk of obesity. Plus, they provide a lot of nutrients like selenium, antioxidants and protein. However, pregnant women and children need to limit their intake of high-mercury fish like swordfish, king mackerel and others.

8. Blood pressure increases.

And what to do about it: Eat less animal protein, eat less foods with a high carbohydrate content (potatoes, rice, pasta, sweets, bread) and eat more foods with a high chlorophyll content. Avoid processed salt and eat mineral salts like pHlavor, take supplementary chromium, vanadium. magnesium, potassium, and calcium. Do whole body exercises.

9. Density of minerals in our bones decreases. Osteoporosis ("porous bones") is a nearly universal condition beginning after age 50.

And what to do about it: Eliminate all acidic foods and drinks which causes the release of calcium ions from the bones. Take supplemental vitamin D, sodium, calcium, magnesium, potassium, phosphorus, lysine, and boron. Take mineral salts like pHour salts and pHlavor salts. Exercise at least 1 hour every day.

10. Calcium increases in our blood, as it decreases in our bones. More calcium in the blood contributes to arthritis, and stiffness of the circulatory system.

And what to do about it: Eliminate all acidic foods and drinks as outlined in the pH Miracle for Weight Loss, including all proteins, sugars, complex carbohydrates, non-alkaline water. Start eating a diet rich in chlorophyll, alkaline water, mineral salts like pHour salts and pHlavor salts and liberal amounts of long chain fats from olive, hemp, flax and pomegranate,

11. Kidney function decreases. The kidneys are responsible for filtering and purifying our blood from dietary and metabolic acids. They also serve as a thermostat to determine if there is enough oxygen in our blood. If there are not enough red blood cells carrying oxygen, the kidneys are the organs that produce EPO, erythropoietin. As kidney function decreases, they allow red blood cell level to decrease, which decreases oxygen to all parts of our body.

And what to do about it: If red blood cell count is lower than normal, it can be raised by increasing the diet in high chlorophyll foods and drinks. Eliminate all meat in your diet. Drink 4 to 5 quarts or 4 to 5 liters of alkaline green drinks per day. Take 1 teaspoon of glutathione 3 times a day.

12. We lose about 20% of the neurons in our brain. This may be due to a lack of oxygen, or to the increase in acid on our brain, or bad circulation, or red blood cell deficiency or probably to a combination of these factors. Improving any or all of them will decrease the loss of neurons and help to restore short term and long term memory.

And what to do about it: Nebulize 10 ml of glutathione 3 times a day. Glutathione will help to clean up lipofuscin, which contributes to the loss of brain cells. Hydration with green drinks will help to clean up the circulatory system. Lower cholesterol and triglycerides will help blood to flow better. Vaso-dilators such as sodium, magnesium, potassium and calcium bicarbonate with 4 to 5 liters of pHruits and pHolage and/or Doc Broc Power Plants per day will help get food, oxygen, and water to your brain cells. Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy will super-saturate blood with oxygen, which could help repair or save brain cells. Take supplements with glutathoine, cysteine, taurine, magnesium, zinc, choline, vitamins B-5, B-6, B-12, folic acid, calcium, and especially CLA from pomegranate seeds. Nebulize glutathione, cysteine, and taurine which will help to increase your circulatory system to the brain, which will help to keep your brain cells healthy. Playing chess, reading newspapers, attending plays or finishing a crossword puzzle all have positive health results, experts say. Brain fitness is paramount to maintaining your cognitive abilities. According to one study by Neurology Online, people who mentally exercised their brains had a reduced risk of mild cognitive impairment and a risk of Alzheimer's that was 2.6 times less than people who did not stimulate their mind.

13. The largest nerve in the body, the vagus nerve, which runs from the brain to the lower body, deteriorates from acidic exposure to dietary and metabolic acids. The vagus nerve is the main neural component of the parasympathetic nervous system, or that part of the nervous system that takes care of the functions that run more or less on "auto-pilot". These include heart rate, ability to have an erection in men, and digestion. As we age, the vagus nerve is affected and damaged by rising blood acid levels. This affects and can be measured in heart rate, the increase in erectile impotence in men, and digestive problems. A twenty-one year old non-diabetic's heart rate typically slows as much as 75 percent from inhaling to exhaling. This drops to about 30 percent for a seventy year old non-diabetic, or less (including "no variation") in a diabetic.

And what to do about it: The acid sugar causes the most damage to the circulatory system. Learn which foods increase your blood glucose levels, and avoid those foods (potatoes, bread, sweets, fruits, rice, pasta, pizza, cookies, and cakes). Eliminate all animal proteins that will decrease uric, nitric, sulphuric and phosphoric acid.

14. Growth hormone secretion decreases about 70% from age 20 to 50, and another 70% from age 50 to 80. Testosterone decreases in males, estrogen decreases in females, thyroid decreases, DHEA, and melatonin decrease.

And what to do about it: Eat more mineral salts like pHlavor and pHour salts to decrease dietary and metabolic acids and increase the health of the endocrine system. When you have a healthy endocrine system which runs on electrons transported on the backbone of mineral salts then the glands will function normally. The evidence of a normally functioning gland is the secretion of hormones which are the acidic waste products of these glands. Some of these acidic glandular acidic waste products include melatonin, DHEA, pregnenolone, testosterone, Tri-Est, progesterone, thyroid, and growth hormone. The single most important nutrient for healthy endocrine glands are the ingestion of mineral salts, especially sodium. It is scientifically proven to reverse many of the signs of aging, including perhaps rejuvenating the thyroid gland itself.

15. Our bodies produce less of certain antioxidants, such as super-oxidase dimutase, which are important for buffering dietary acids or as our first natural defense against fermentation or tissue degeneration from dietary and metabolic acids.

And what to do about it: eat raw electron rich green fruits and vegetables, if necessary take natural mineral salt supplements, like pHour salts which contains sodium, magnesium, potassium and calcium bicarbonate. Take orally glutathione, which will help decrease the harmful dietary and metabolic acids that increase with age.

16. The thickness of our skin decreases... skin wrinkles.

And what to do about it: Take supplements of vitamin A, C, E, and glutathione. Eliminate all animal protein and complex carbohydrates. Increase your intake of green fruits and vegetables which are high in chlorophyll that will help build healthy blood and in turn help build healthy skin cells. The quality of the blood will determine the quality of the skin cells and the quality of the red blood cells as the primary stem cells will be determined by the quality and quantity of green fruits and vegetables eaten. Take at least 9 to 12 servings of green fruits or vegetables a day or supplement your diet with a concentration of fruits and vegetables called pHruits and pHolage. Take 1 to 2 capsules or pHruits and pHolage with alkaline water 3 times daily.

17. The proportion of water in tissues decreases... this causes dry skin and more wrinkles.

And what to do about it: Drink 4 to 5 liters or quarts of structured electron rich alkaline water with 1 to 2 scoops of concentrated pHruits and pHolage and/or Doc Broc Power Plants each day. This will help provide the naturally occurring antioxidants to prevent wrinkles and the electron rich hydration to prevent dry skin.

18. We hear less well, and see less well.

And what to do about it: take supplemental Glutathione, Vitamin A, and Vitamin E. Place 1 drop in each ear or each eye of colloidal copper, gold, silver and titanium. Drink 4 to 5 liters or quarts of electron rich alkaline water with 1 to 2 scoops of pHruits and pHloage and/or Doc Broc Power Plants.

19. Men more than women, some younger and some older, but all of us lose hair on our heads, and hair turns white.

And what to do about it: Wash and condition your hair with Young pHorever Shampoo and Conditioner which will increase the circulatory system reaching the roots of the hairs, thus taking water, oxygen, and nutrients to the roots of your hair. This will avoid or postpone the loss of hair.

20. The thymus gland which is the master gland of the immune system, shrinks and atrophy’s with age, because of increased dietary and metabolic acids.

And what to do about it: Take supplements of Young pHorever Glutathione, CLA from pomegranate, Vitamins A, and E. Drink 4 to 5 liters or quarts of electron rich alkaline water with 1 to 2 scoops of pHruits and pHloage and/or Doc Broc Power Plants to help reverse the atrophy of the thymus gland.

21. The liver and brain and other vital organs shrink and become less effective because of dietary and metabolic acid. We lose up to 20% of the neurons in our brain, especially after age 45. Our liver also shrinks in size because of dietary and metabolic acid.

And what to do about it: Drink 4 to 5 liters or quarts of electron rich alkaline water with 1 to 2 scoops of pHruits and pHloage and/or Doc Broc Power Plants to help dilate the capillaries. This will help feed the brain and other organs with oxygen and nutrients, to prevent loss. Take Young pHorever glutathione, which will increase the circulatory system, thus getting nutrients and oxygen and water to all organs, thus preventing their loss.

22. Lipofuscin accumulates in our brains and snuffs out memory cells.

And what to do about it: Drink 4 to 5 liters or quarts of electron rich alkaline water with 1 to 2 scoops of pHruits and pHolage and/or Doc Broc Power Plants to help remove lipofuscin from the brain, or reduce the rate of accumulation, with a doctor's supervision. Take Young pHorever glutathione, which will increase the size and vigor of the circulatory system, thus helping to keep the garbage moving out.

23. The circulatory system deteriorates. We are born with a perfectly clean and beautifully flexible circulatory system reaching everywhere. But by the time we are 50 years old, if you would see a cross-section of your veins and arteries, and depending upon how much you have abused your body with sugar, transfat foods, cigarettes and alcohol etc, they are looking like a clogged up sewer. In addition to cholesterol bound acid, they are clogged up with calcium bound acid, and veins and arteries have lost flexibility. This causes blood to circulate more slowly, and so less oxygen gets to all parts of the body, including the brain. Dietary and metabolic acid are at the root cause of loss of brain cells, and organ and gland atrophy.

And what to do about it: Avoid as much sugar and carbohydrates and proteine in your diet, as possible. Young pHorever Glutathione, cysteine, and taurine will help prevent free radical damage, which causes some of the problem. Omega-3, 5, 6 and 9 oil will help lower acidity, increasing the level of healthy red blood cells that will help repair the walls of the circulatory system, and bowel detoxification, oral alkaline chelation will might help to cleanse out micro-calcifications and some metals, thus improving circulation. Take Young pHorever glutathione which is proven to increase the length and breadth of the circulatory system. Drink 4 to 5 liters or quarts of electron rich alkaline water with 1 to 2 scoops of pHruits and pHolage and/or Doc Broc Power Plants to help build red blood cells and to dilate the circulatory system, thus helping to increase the flow of blood to all parts of the body. Take chlorophyll and eat green fruits and vegetables to increase blood volume, the percentage of blood that is red blood cells, and hemoglobin which carries oxygen. You know what they say, "A cucumber a day keeps the doctor away." Broccoli, kale, avocado, cucumbers whatever the fruit or veggie, chances are you're doing a body good with its vitamins, minerals, anti-oxidants and fiber. According to the World Cancer Research Fund and the American Institute for Cancer Research, diets that contain substantial and varied amounts of fruits and vegetables may potentially prevent 20 percent or more cancer cases.

24. Toxic metals such as lead and mercury accumulate throughout our lives in our bodies. They stick to the brain and the spinal column, causing damage. This process probably starts soon after birth. After a certain level, lead will cause a decrease in learning. Mercury causes a decrease in learning and headaches and pain. Both probably also contribute to damage which might result in an increase in other terrible deceases.

And what to do about it: Get an analysis done to determine what levels of toxic metals are in your body. Of course, if you smoke, quit smoking. Drink 4 to 5 liters or quarts of electron rich alkaline water with 1 to 2 scoops of pHruits and pHolage and/or Doc Broc Power Plants to help lower the levels of toxic metals. Dry heat sauna, lymphatic massage and exercise can also help lower some toxins. Avoid contact as much as possible with mercury and lead in paints, fungus creams, etc. The greatest amount of mercury is foolishly placed into your mouth by ignorant dentists, via so-called "silver" amalgams (if dentists would call them "mercury amalgams," like they should since they are more than 50% mercury, then they might lose business...) Utterly refuse any mercury amalgams in your mouth, and consider removing and replacing the ones you have!

25. Water proportion in the body and in the skin, drops. This results (among other things) in dryer skin, and more wrinkles.

And what to do about it: Drink 4 to 5 liters or quarts of electron rich alkaline water with 1 to 2 scoops of pHruits and pHloage and/or Doc Broc Power Plants.

26. Deep sleep deteriorates. The first stage of deterioration of sleep due to aging occurs between young adulthood (ages 16 to 25) and mid-life (35-50). Although the total amount of sleep remains constant as young adults move into mid-life, the proportion of slow wave or deep sleep decreases from nearly 20% of a normal night's sleep for those under 25, to less than five percent for those over 35. Growth hormone secretion, which occurs primarily during deep sleep, also declines by about 75%.

And what to do about it: Nebulize glutathione, which helps to increase deep sleep. Drink 4 to 5 liters or quarts of electron rich alkaline water with 1 to 2 scoops of pHruits and pHloage and/or Doc Broc Power Plants. Getting less than six hours of sleep each night could have negative health effects. A study from the Sleep Health Centers in Boston reported that getting less than this amount of sleep each night increased the risk of dying. Plus, having too little sleep increases your risk of diabetes. Sleeping reduces the levels of leptin, which is the hormone that signals us to stop eating. A heavier weight equates to an increased diabetes risk. Experts recommend getting between six to nine hours of sleep each night for optimum health.

27. Certain acidic hormones such as cortisol increase with age. Cortisol is produced by the body in response to stress. It is a catabolic, ie, it destroys or ferments muscle. Cortisol is also known as "the Death hormone" under the theory that the human body will spontaneously end its own life at a certain age.

And what to do about it: Avoid anger and stress, and very strenuous exercise which will make the body produce cortisol. Take 1 teaspoon of Young pHorever glutathione 3 times a day, which helps you to remain optimistic and to resist stress. Drink 4 to 5 liters or quarts of electron rich alkaline water with 1 to 2 scoops of pHruits and pHloage and/or Doc Broc Power Plants.

28. A harmful acidic enzyme, aromatase, increases with age. Aromatase converts testosterone to estrogen, which are both acidic waste products of glandular function. In a man's body, this results in a loss of muscle and worsening skin tone, and a decrease in sex drive. In a woman's body, this results less activity of the glands that are vital for building muscle, and skin tone, and also sex drive. This is indicated by the reduction of the acidic waste hormone testosterone.

And what to do about it: Take phour salts, pHlavor salts, and glutathione, which are very effective anti-aromatase. Drink 4 to 5 liters or quarts of electron rich alkaline water with 1 to 2 scoops of pHruits and pHloage and/or Doc Broc Power Plants. After 12 weeks you can take blood tests for hormone levels to determine that the hormone levels are now in healthy levels.

29. Digestion becomes slower and less complete.

And what to do about it: It is important to note that the digestive system does not digest food but alkalizes food for biological transformation into stem cells in the crypts of the small intestine. The salivary glands, stomach, pancreas, and gallbladder all secret sodium bicarbonate to alkalize the food and liquids we ingest. To help in the process of alkalizing our food take 1 scoop of pHour salts in 3 t 4 ounces of electron rich alkaline water 2 to 3 times a day.

30. As we age, our melanocytes begin to function less effectively. The density of active melanocytes in the skin is reduced by 10% to 20% every 10 years, starting in our late 30's and 40's. Melanocytes are also responsible for hair color, so their loss explains why 50% of people are gray by age 50. When sunlight hits the skin, cells called melanocytes (located between the outer and middle layers of the skin) begin to take action. Melanocytes continually release small amounts of the brown- black pigment called melanin into the skin. Exposure to sunlight signals the melanocytes to produce more melanin. Melanin determines our normal skin color and attempts to protect our skin from severe sun damage.

And what to do about it: Take 1 teaspoon of Young pHorever glutathione 3 time a day and treat your hair with Young pHorever Shampoo and Conditioner, which can help to reverse loss of hair color in many people. Drink 4 to 5 liters or quarts of electron rich alkaline water with 1 to 2 scoops of pHruits and pHloage and/or Doc Broc Power Plants. Wearing Young pHorever sunscreen, limiting your exposure to the sun during peak hours and wearing sunglasses are some ways to prevent skin damage and cancer. Considering skin cancer is the most common of cancer types -- more than one million cases are diagnosed each year in the U.S. -- prevention and early detection are key to prolonging your life.

There are other things you can do to slow down the aging process and increase the likelihood of living beyond 100 years:

1) Manage Stress

Whether you manage stress by getting a massage, meditating or working out, as long as you're doing something to curtail the anxiety you're headed towards a healthier life. Stressful situations such as births, deaths, divorce and employment concerns often slow down the blood flow to the heart, raise cholesterol levels, decrease your mental well-being and weaken the immune system with the increase of metabolic acids.

2) Stay Positive

If you always think the glass is half full, you're on the right track. Mayo Clinic research shows that people with a positive outlook typically live 19 percent longer than people who see the glass as half empty. Although it's questionable if this can be attributed to optimists being more likely to seek medical help when they're ill or their immune systems being stronger as a result of their sunny outlook, the result is that they live longer. Optimists are also less likely to suffer depression and helplessness than their pessimist counterparts because they create less acid in their body.

3) Quit Drinking Alcohol

Alcohol is a toxic acidic fluid and compromises the alkaline design of the body. Drinking any acidic alcohol will shorten your life.

4) Quit Smoking

Let's face it: smoking is bad for you. Really bad. Need proof? Based on data from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, adult male smokers lost approximately 13.2 years of their lives and female smokers lost 14.5 years of their lives because of smoking. Plus, chronic diseases caused by smoking tended to curtail the quality of life of smokers while they were still alive.

5) Laugh out Loud

Experts say that laughter is the best medicine. After all, it increases your immune system response, lowers acidic blood sugar levels in diabetics, increases oxygen flow throughout your entire body and helps induce a state of relaxation promoting better sleep. The positive health effects are no laughing matter: according to the University of Maryland Medical Center, average blood flow typically increases 22 percent during and after bursts of laughter compared to a decrease in blood flow by 35 percent during mental stress.

6) Get and Stay Married

Exchanging vows comes with its own medical perks. A study in the Journal of Epidemiology and Community Health showed the death rate for people who were unmarried was significantly higher compared to people who were married and living with their spouses. While the results were significant among the various unmarried subcategories such as divorced, separated, or widowed populations, it was significantly stronger for people who had never been married.

7) Share a Hug

Couples who had physical contact, such as a brief hug and ten minutes of hand holding, actually lowered their heart rates and blood pressure by 50 percent, according to researchers at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. Plus, in a previous study it was determined that hugging and hand-holding reduces the negative effects of stress.

8) Eat An Alkaline pH Miracle Diet

Eating an alkaline diet rich in spouted grains, seeds, nuts, green vegetables and fruits is the best way to maintain the delicate pH balance of the blood and tissues and the alkaline design of the body. This will then help to prevent any and all sickness and disease. It will also help to improve the quality and the quantity of life well beyond 100 years.

Menstrual Migraines in Adolescents

Posted by thomenda7xx on Thursday, December 27, 2012

Many adult women who suffer from chronic migraine headaches find that many, if not most of their headaches occur between 2 days before menstruation and 2-3 days after menstruation. These migraines are referred to as "menstrual" or hormonally related migraines.

Recently researchers at Cincinnati's Children's Hospital completed a study analyzing what percentage of adolescent, menstruating young women experienced "menstrual" or "hormonally" related migraines.

It was found that out of the 891 adolescent girls studied, 50% experienced a headache during their first period upon entering puberty and almost 40% of these adolescents continued to experience migraines just before or just after their periods.

These migraines are brought about by both the hormonal shifts that occur during menstruation as well as changes in blood sugar levels. They are often accompanied by PMS symptoms of bloating, breast pain, irritability, cravings, acne, poor sleep and anxiety, as well. These hormonal changes are similar to the changes in estrogen levels that occur as women are approaching menopause and in fact some women will develop migraines as they approach menopause because of these decreasing estrogen levels.

Correcting these imbalances can reduce or eliminate both migraines and many of the symptoms of PMS. Our own clinical observations indicate that addressing hormonal shifts without also balancing blood sugar levels leads to less comprehensive benefits not only regarding migraine prophylaxis but regarding the aforementioned symptoms associated with PCOS. Therefore we recommend adding to any proposed regimen, ingredients like chromium picolinate, or other insulin sensitizing ingredients, plus additional dietary fiber to prevent spiking of blood glucose levels that can often led to the precipitous drops associated with hypoglycemia.

We at MigreLief have created a safe, gentle and natural medicine for adolescent and adult women suffering from both/either menstrual/hormonally related migraines and monthly symptoms of PMS, it is called MigreLief+M. In fact, women suffering from symptoms of PCOS (Polycystic ovarian syndrome) like acne, thinning hair, irregular menstrual cycles and weight gain may benefit as well. It will be available in 1-2 months.
